Plot Diagram
A plot diagram is used to write the 5 main parts of the plot. You start off with the exposition where you write what happens in the beginning of the story and/or write about the main character's or characters' background(s).Then, you go to the rising action where you write what leads to the main problem of conflict. Next, you go to the climax where you write what happens when the problem hits a high point. After that, you go to the falling action where you write how the problem is solved. Finally, you end at the resolution where you write how things end up here.
5 Paragraph Essay
To write a 5 paragraph essay you start with the introductory paragraph. In the introductory paragraph, you start off with your hook to make the reader want to continue reading. You then introduce your thesis statement followed by the reasons why your statement is true. Next, you begin the following 3 body paragraphs. In the 3 body paragraphs, you pretty much explain how your reasons support your thesis statement. Finally, you end with your conclusion. In the conclusion, you basically restate your thesis statement. This information can prepare you to write a 5 paragraph. essay.
Main Parts of A Story
Character
Character is pretty much the main person in the story. The main person would be talked about or talking the most. In most stories, the main character will not die. If the main character does die, the story/series of stories has ended or there will be a new character. Usually the main character is told at the beginning along with the setting.
Setting
The setting is where the main character is at. There can be multiple settings or just a single setting. The setting can also be a time of a day such as the morning, afternoon, or evening. Usually the setting is told at the beginning of a story along with the main character.
Theme
The theme is really just what the story is about. For example, the theme of a story can be "be careful what you wish for" where in the story someone wants something and when they get it something bad happens because of what they got. People can think of many different themes for one story.
Plot
The plot is a number of events of events that make up the story. The events can be in orders such as cause and effect and sequence. The plot is the thing that actually makes the story as people would probably know.
Conflict
Some stories have a conflict that can start near the beginning. The conflict is the problem that is going on with the main character. The main character tries to resolve the problem throughout the plot.
Solution
The solution is where the conflict resolves. The main character finds a way to stop the problem during this part of the story. The solution is mainly near or at the end of the story
Gilgamesh

Gilgamesh is a king who is half human and half god. He had conquered many challenges and now that he didn't have any challenges he was bored. Because he was bored, Gilgamesh treated his people badly. The gods saw what Gilgamesh was doing so they made him a challenge. There was a man named Enkidu who pretty much liked nature. The gods made Enkidu stronger and faster and sent him to Gilgamesh. Enkidu challenged Gilgamesh to a duel and Gilgamesh accepted it. They both were equally matched and after the duel they decide to become friends. They both set off to fight Humbaba, protector of the Cedar Forest, to get some wood for Gilgamesh's own needs. Gilgamesh won and got wood from the Cedar Forest.
Response to Literature
Response to literature is where you react to what you have read or listened to. In school, I read about Arachne and had to write about things such as the main idea. I also watched a video about Arachne and had to compare the two. You can respond in ways such as summarizing, retelling, and analyzing.
Expository Unit
Expository writing is pretty much writing where the purpose is to inform or explain. The information presents an idea, relevant information, and appropriate discussion. Examples of expository writing are textbooks, news stories, and reports.

Pompeii
In class, we had a periodic assessment on Pompeii. We needed to write about the eruption and how Pompeii got buried. Pompeii (if you didn't know already) is a place that resided in Ancient Rome. The eruption had hit the city wiping most of the people out. There are real people frozen today from 79 AD. We needed to write for this assessment because of the CCSS (Common Core State Standards).

Argumentative Writing
Argumentative writing is where you have an argument in a writing containing your claim. With your claim, you would need evidence (usually 3 reasons) to support your claim. Those reasons would have a paragraph each reason. With your claim you would have a counter-claim that is against your claim. The counter-claim would need a rebuttal to refute it. To end the essay/writing you would need a conclusion. The conclusion would pretty much restate the introduction.

Storyboards
Storyboards are for depicting or making a story through scenes and text. In my class, we use Storyboardthat.com to make storyboards of stories we read and sometimes we can make storyboards with our own topic or conflict. Here is one of the storyboards I made.
